Office of the Principal
Welcome to Toro Canyon Middle School! We look forward to an exciting and successful year of learning and discovery. We have many opportunities for students to success here and we are glad yo will be part of that effort. Our testing results from the 2010-2011 school year showed academic gains. However, it is our continued goal to do even better this year, but we need your help, support and understanding.
Education is essential for our children so that they have options in life. Educational achievement requires persistence, dedication and effort. Working together with families, we hope to provide a professional learning community that encourages the "HERO" in all of our students. For us, failure is not an option.
In order to fulfill our mission of excellence, we need support from our families. We need to work together as a team to assure student success. Our students must be held accountable in their academics, behavior, and social interactions. You can count on us to fully implement our rules. Here are some specific ways you can help us:
1. Please be sure that your child is following the dress code. It is strictly enforced.
2. Please review the discipline plan presented. Success requires structure and consistency. You have our commitment to maintaining a safe, positive and nurturing school environment.
3. Please emphasize the importance of education with your children and provide time and space for homework, projects and reading.
4. Celebrate their successes!
5. Please call or visit whenever you have a concern, question, commendation or recommendation.
6. Consider joining a parent group on campus. We welcome your participation!
We believe in every one of our students. We are devoted to their success. The educational journey we begin this year is focused on providing a solid academic program that reaches out to all students so that they can discover the true joy of learning.
We look forward to working with you to make this a wonderful year.
Sincerely,
Gabriel P. Fajardo,
Principal
| My Non-Negotiables | ||
My non-negotiables are core beliefs about instruction and the environment in which our children learn. They are firmly established and are not adjusted even through the education world in which I work is often consumed with change. My non-negotiables define me as an educational leader; they are what I stand for, who I am. They are my “true North”. My actions, behaviors, communications, and priorities are determined in relation to them.
